Two American men entered Thailand on Thursday to steal human body parts from the Siriraj Medical Museum, according to the hospital.
The preserved baby's foot, human heart and sheets of skin obtained by Ryan McPherson and Daniel Tanner came from the hospital's exhibition according to Udom Kachintorn, dean of the hospital's Faculty of Medicine.
“According to CCTV footage, the foreigner who shipped the body parts visited the museum, but we did not see him take the body parts,” Udom said. “Police will investigate to find out if the suspect put the body parts in his backpack or bribed the museum staff.”
Udom made the admission this afternoon and said the hospital was filing a police report.
The two men were detained Saturday after they tried shipping the body parts back to Las Vegas, Nevada. Police released them and they left Sunday for Cambodia.
Visitor records indicate McPherson entered Thailand on Thursday and visited the museum on Friday prior to dropping the three parcels off at DHL at BTS National Stadium.
McPherson and Tanner, originally from La Mesa, Calif., are famous for preying on homeless men a decade ago to create infamously violent videos called “Bumfights” they sold over the internet.
